EUGENE KOHN
Currently serves as the Chairman of Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates. In 1976, along with William Pedersen and Sheldon Fox, he founded KPF based on a commitment to design excellence.
Gene has served as Partner-in-Charge of many of KPF’s major domestic and international projects and is responsible for many of the firm’s new commissions.
Gene is respected worldwide, not only for his forty-year career as an architect, but also for his inspirational leadership qualities. He is highly regarded as an engaging public speaker and is sought after around the globe as a moderator, juror and keynote speaker on contemporary architecture. He has lectured at numerous universities, for professional organizations and institutions across the US and around the world.
As founder and principal of KPF, he has developed a global strategy and has shaped the firm into one of the world’s leaders in all aspects of architectural practice.
KPF today is an international practice with studios in New York, London and a growing presence in Shanghai. Led by eighteen principals and directors with 400 employees representing forty-three countries and speaks thirty languages, provides full architectural design integrated services.

Conceived as a vertical campus, the new academic building occupies three quarters of a block. The complex provides 750,000 gsf in a mid-rise building, comprising forty per cent of Baruch’s total campus area. Crown Fountain
Chicago, IL
Spanish artist Jaume Plensa’s unique fountain is a multi-media sculpture that utilizes water, video, and color-changing lighting. Two glass towers, each 50 feet high, stand at either end of a shallow water pool, with water cascading down their sides. Their opposing faces contain large LED video screens, on which play a succession of images of Chicagoans’faces.

EL DIVINO, RESTAURANTÂ
The restoration of an turn of the century neo-gothic house that was declared an Artistic Monument by the Institute Nacional de Bellas Artes.
 The task to include a restaurant was a difficult one. The objective was to respect the original architecture if the house and to restore it to its original state. This was done in conjunction with the instituto Nacional de Bells Artes.
The interior design is inspired in Catalan architecture emphasizing the yellow and red in their flag, and the lighting played an important roll, making of this restaurant a visual experience.
