Spanish architect, Ricardo Bofill, was born in 1939.ÂÂ
He graduated from the Barcelona University of Architecture and the School of Geneva. Bofill is one of the main representatives of postmodernism in architecture. In 1963 Bofill founded Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura (Architecture workshop) by gathering a group of architects, engineers, planners, sociologist, writers, movie makers and philosophers. The firm has established an international reputation with urban planning, urban design, infrastructures for public transport, sports, cultural and retail facilities, residential and office buildings in addition to interior design.
The Lake Arcades and the Viaduct
Bofill´s first major project in France that consists of 163 dwellings, public spaces with plazas and gardens on the shores of an artificial lake. The monumental arrangement of buildings is a result of the dwellings that are grouped together in blocks and linked by an underground car park

Marc Newson is one of the most successful and influential industrial designers. Born in Sydney, Newson studied jewellery and sculpture at Sydney College of Arts before moving to London where he established Marc Newson Ltd in 1997. His designs are featured in many global museums. Newson is Adjunct Professor in Design at Sydney College of Arts and he has been appointed as “Royal Designer for Industry” in the UK.
In addition, Newson has won numerous awards.

Global French architect, Paul Andreu, was born in 1938. He studied at Ecole Polytéchnique and graduated in 1958. Andreu is one of the world leading experts in airport design and has worked on more than 40 projects worldwide including Charles de Gaulle International Airport (Paris), airports of Shanghai, Cairo, Bangkok, Osaka, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Andreu also designed the French terminal of the Channel Tunnel, a football stadium in China and the Maritime Museum in Japan. Andreu has won numerous prizes and awards and he is a member of the French Academy of Architecture and the French Academy of Air and Space.ÂÂ
Grand National Theatre of China
A futuristic design, by Paul Andreu, consists of an opera, a concert hall and 2 theaters joined under a titanium and glass egg-shaped shell. Guests arrive to the complex after walking through a hallway that goes underneath the artificial lake that surrounds the building.
