The finnish designer Eero Aarnio, born in 1932, studied from 1954 to 1957 at the Institute of Industrial Arts in Helsinki and started in 1962 with his own office as an interior and industrial designer.
Engaged in new ideas of furniture he designed the Ball Chair already in 1963; it was produced some years later. Material (fiber glass) and shape were complete novelties for that time’s furniture industry.

Aarnio’s designs were an important aspect of 1960s popular culture, and could often be seen as part of sets in period science-fiction films. Because his designs used very simple geometric forms, they were ideal for such productions.

Native of Lituania, Massimiliano Fuksas is an architect graduate from La Sapienza University. He established practices in Rome, Paris and Vienna respectively and since 2002 he opened a new studio in Frankfurt.
For many years Fuksas has been devoting special attention to the study of the urban problems in large metropolitan areas. Besides developing projects for all over the world, the theoretical reflection and innovation, were always running within the conceptual process.
Twin Towers, Vienna
The project utilizes varied architectural typology, towers and bars, avoiding monotony in the entire complex and at the same time permitting a clear recognition of the distributive elements of every organism made.

French designer Gwenael Nicolas and Japanese marketeer Reiko Miyamoto are the faces behind Curiosity, a Tokyo-based design agency. In a very short time this outfit has made an international name for itself, thanks to a compatible mix of graphics, products and interiors for clients such as Issey Miyake, Nintendo, Pioneer and Tag Heuer.
SONY Showroom
The Sony Building opens in Tokyo’s Ginza district to mark the company’s 20th anniversary. It is still there today, introducing a multi-storey showroom.
